摘要: This chapter reviews the evidence that challenges traditional and unproven notions which perpetuate singular importance of constriction dilation to genesis migraine pain. New data in experimental laboratory models suggest headache may develop primarily from metabolic/neurophysiological events (as yet unidentified) within cortical mantle, or a disturbance those regions brain closely approximate distribution trigeminovascular fibers innervating meningeal blood vessels. Accordingly, this will review consequences activation pain inflammation, summarize emerging molecular pharmacological suggesting ergot alkaloids sumatriptan alleviate via pre-junctional 5-HT1 heteroreceptors residing on primary afferent fibers.
