摘要: An experiment was carried out on board a Space Processing Applications Rocket with the aim of demonstrating bubble migration in molten glass due to temperature gradient under low gravity conditions. During flight, sample sodium borate melt specific array, contained platinum/fused silica cell, subjected well defined for more than 4 minutes. Photographs taken at one second intervals during clearly show that bubbles move toward hot spot platinum heater strip. This result is consistent predictions theory thermocapillary driven motion.
