摘要: ABSTRACT: Background Essential tremor (ET) is a very common movement disorder that has no diagnostic markers. Differentiation with Parkinson's disease (PD) can be clinically challenging in some cases, high rate of misdiagnosis. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies have been able to identify neuromelanin changes the substantia nigra (SN) PD patients, but they thus far not investigated ET. In this study, we aimed characterize neuromelanin-MR signal ET and evaluate its accuracy differential diagnosis PD. Methods The inclusion criteria were patients untreated “de novo” patients; addition, age-matched controls enrolled. These studied high-resolution T1-weighted MRI sequence at 3.0 Tesla visualize neuromelanin. The primary outcomes area width SN region signal. Results A total 15 12 evaluated. T1 markedly decreased group compared controls, greater decrease was seen ventrolateral segment. measures group, although slightly lower, significantly different from healthy control group. We obtained sensitivity 66.7% specificity 93.3% discriminating early-stage PD. Conclusions Neuromelanin-sensitive techniques discriminate tremor-dominant useful clinical tool evaluation disorders. © 2015 International Parkinson Movement Disorder Society
