摘要: Objective To clarify the extent, timing, and patient perspectives of great auricular nerve (GAN) morbidity recovery after sacrifice during parotidectomy first postoperative year. Design Prospective series. Setting Tertiary care academic medical center. Patients Twenty-seven consecutive patients who underwent with GAN sacrifice. Main Outcome Measures Preoperatively at 3, 6, 9, 12 months postoperatively, we performed light touch sensation tests on each to develop an ink map representing anesthesia paresthesia in sensory territory; also completed outcomes questionnaire. Results Twenty-two (81%) 27 follow-up. The prevalence average area decreased continually year according testing scoring. Half had no months. increased testing; however, contiguity subjective scoring peaked 6 subsequent follow-up points. Throughout year, difficulty using telephone, shaving, combing their hair, wearing earrings, sleeping operative side because both paresthesia. Conclusions impact quality life is tolerable improves However, feel that may be bothersome enough warrant efforts preserve posterior branch when possible appropriate.
