摘要: This chapter traces the rise of Indigenous organizations in Australia, from early development formal organizations, to self-determination era 1970s what has been recently referred as neo-assimilationist turn government policy. The outlines diverse functions these organizations: not-for-profit sector. It illustrates that there is increasing ambivalence service provision roles this being driven by a range factors, including new public management reforms. Then, it examines tensions between and private sector arguments seek decouple controlling hand government. also not only more than providers, but intercultural mediators. Finally, discusses one reasons why are so many Australia today.
