摘要: The novel coronavirus pandemic, also known as severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has placed an immense strain on healthcare systems across the entire world. Consequently, multiple federal and state governments have restrictions hospitals such limiting "elective surgery" recommending social or physical distancing. We review literature several areas that been affected including surgical selection, inpatient care, physician well-being. These affecting paradigms include priority, distancing, file sharing for online clinical communications, wellness. During this crisis, it is important orthopaedic departments place emphasis personnel safety slowing spread of virus so department can still maintain vital functions. Physical distancing emerging technologies telemedicine applications enable programs to function while attempting protect medical staff patients from spread. This sought provide evidence-based guidance during unprecedented time. Orthopaedic surgeons should follow Centers Disease Control Prevention guidelines, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate, teams created using understand department's policy elective surgery, engage in routines which enhance
