摘要: Urbanization is a major driver of ecological change and comes with suite habitat modifications, including alterations to the local temperature, precipitation, light noise regimes. Although many recent studies have investigated behavioural ramifications urbanization, physiological work in this area has lagged. We tested hypothesis that anthropogenic stressor for amphibians chronic exposure such leads reproductive suppression. In laboratory, we exposed male White's treefrogs, Litoria caerulea, conspecific chorus either alone or coupled pre-recorded traffic nightly 1 week. Frogs presented had significantly higher circulating concentrations corticosterone decreased sperm count viability than did control frogs. These results suggest addition having effects, might alter physiology Darwinian fitness. Future should integrate disparate fields as behaviour, ecology elucidate fully organisms' responses change.
