摘要: Abstract: Numerous factors have contributed to declines in populations of the federally threatened Agassiz's Desert Tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) and continue limit recovery. In 2010, we surveyed a low-density population on military test facility northwestern Mojave California, USA, evaluate status identify potential contributing distribution low densities. Estimated densities live tortoises ranged spatially from 1.2/km2 15.1/km2. Although only one death breeding-age tortoise was recorded for 4-yr period prior survey, remains 16 juvenile immature were found, most showed signs predation by Common Ravens (Corvus corax) mammals.
