摘要: Tryptophan is an indispensable amino acid in animal nutrition. Without it young animals cease to grow, and adult can no longer maintain nitrogen equilibrium. Hence, dietary intake ultimately the starting point for any consideration of regulation content this CNS. Dietary deficiency tryptophan results quickly a decrease brain (Gessa et al., 1974; Dickerson Pao, 1975). This depletion also accounts known tissue 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT, serotonin), including that (Eber Lembeck, 1958; Gal Drewes, 1962; Culley 1963). Some species (e.g., pig rat) use D-tryptophan part their nutritional requirement (Baker 1971) presumably converting by way oxidative deamination followed asymmetric transamination L-amino acid. The rat α-keto analogue growth, but compound not as effective itself (Pond 1964).
