摘要: Carvacrol (5-isopropyl-2-methylphenol, CAR) is an antibacterial ingredient that occurs naturally in the leaves of plant Origanum vulgare. The antimicrobial mechanism CAR against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 43300 was investigated study. Analysis membrane fatty acids by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) showed exposure to at low concentrations induced a marked increase level unbranched (from 34.90 ± 1.77% 62.37 4.26%). Moreover, higher levels severely damaged integrity and morphologies S. cell membrane. DNA-binding properties were also using fluorescence, circular dichroism, molecular modeling, atomic-force microscopy. results bound DNA via minor-groove mode, mildly perturbed secondary structure, molecules be aggregated.
