摘要: The development of exploratory visualization tools based on coordinated multiple views has become an important area information research. One goal this research is to allow users explore their data by switching freely between building and browsing in a flexible, integrated, interactive graphical environment that requires minimal programming skill use. However, the range possibilities for displaying across depends flexibility coordination, expressiveness visual abstraction, ability comprehend structure visualizations as they work. As result, exploration been limited practice small subset are both useful usable. This dissertation describes four primary contributions field visualization. first contribution conceptual model view Live Properties, which tightly couple through shared objects describe navigation selection state visualization. The second abstraction language, Coordinated Queries, loosely relational model. Views aggregate, filter, sort, graphically encode records using declarative expressions can be defined terms parameters. The third metavisualization , explored visualizing it situ, directly running themselves. The fourth Improvise, implemented system build browse multiview interactively Properties Queries. By coupling with gain precise control over how affects appearance individual views. In Improvise user interface, create modify quickly incrementally during exploration, optionally evolves. practical many more much richer coordination than other environments.
