Knowledge, attitude and practice of breast self examination among final years female medical students in Sudan

摘要: Background: Breast Self Examination (BSE) is a process whereby women examine their breasts regularly to detect any abnormal swellings or lumps in order seek prompt medical attention. Aim: This study was conducted determine the knowledge and practice of Sudanese students regarding BSE. Patients methods: descriptive cross sectional study, which female final year three governmental universities participated. A questionnaire used for data collection. Results: Two hundred participated study. Their age ranged from 18 29 years, with mean 23. Most respondents (86%) were aware Mass media such as Newspaper, Television Radio major source information while by health workers least. Nevertheless, only two thirds reported performing The results point out that have non-satisfactory BSE, compared what expected. Conclusion: findings showed BSE inadequate among young students. should be included curricula both undergraduate postgraduate schools.
