摘要: This paper argues that water gradually became, over a period of more than half century, critical boundary object between science and governance in California. The historicizes ‘water’, series discrete problems involved water, particularly the reclamation ‘swampland’ Sacramento Valley, came to be viewed as single ‘water problem’ with many facets. My overarching theoretical aim is rethink ontology technoscientific state through tools actor-network theory. I conclude following paradox: forms into complex gathering – or ‘thing’ which humans are part, it represented perceived simplified singular actor set apart from those same humans.
