摘要: Sierra Nevada’s landscape is basically a consequence of Quaternary climate oscillations. The coldest periods during the Pleistocene favoured glacial development in massif, with glaciers flowing downvalleys reaching altitudes lower than 2500 m. Landforms and deposits left by allow reconstructing several phases glacier advance recession. Geomorphological evidences Last Glacial maximum are widespread both south north slopes Nevada. deglaciation occurred relatively rapidly was only interrupted short cold pulses that activated spread periglacial processes (e.g. Late Glacial). evolution highest parts massif since Maximum has been mainly controlled activity reshaped preexisting morphologies, ephemeral small headwaters western cirques Little Ice Age). During stages Holocene to down m triggering active slope processes, whereas warm were more favourable generate soil formation geomorphic stability. warming trend initiated mid-19th century melted southernmost European conditioned geomorphological migrate upper altitudes.
