摘要: Sarcoptes scabiei infestation was diagnosed in two freshly dead free-ranging pampas foxes (Pseudalopex gymnocercus) the Gran Chaco, Bolivia. Diagnosis made based on histologic evaluation of skin biopsies and identification parasite from scrapings. Characteristic gross lesions consistent with mange were noted 19 94 observations region December 1998 to January 2000. None 16 crab-eating (Cerdocyon thous) observed during same time period had visible scabies. These are first case reports S. foxes.
