摘要: Cell-to-cell transmission of proteopathic alpha-synuclein (α-syn) seeds is increasingly thought to underlie the progression neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, multiple system atrophy, and related synucleinopathies. As such, it important understand chemical biological relationships between cells pathological aggregates α-syn. This brief review updates our understanding templated spread α-syn pathology in disease from perspective seeds, how these are processed by as well their effects on cellular function. Recent advances conformations highlighted, possible structural basis for observed heterogeneity synucleinopathies discussed. Finally, we propose possibility that some known risk factors may fact potentiate cell-to-cell via imbalances interrelated cell processes.
