摘要: Abstract The status of solid waste management in a city is often considered an index for assessing governance. In cities the developing world, informal sector plays important role waste. This paper examines position recycling planning and reform Enugu, Nigeria. based on direct field observations, key-informant interviews with stakeholders review relevant legislation, policy documents reports management. highlights recent efforts to visibly improve governance through urban area. Contribution recyclers towards handling city's problem, job creation poverty alleviation also noted. study reveals that import has not been given adequate consideration within framework reforms With focus Millennium Development Goals reduction, improvement quality life environmental sustainability, this observes Enugu possesses unacknowledged development potential. calls official recognition support activity empowerment people involved it context programme.
