摘要: Abstract Rare earths are critical elements in our modern societies and the ever-increasing demand raises fears of supply risks coming years. This work dealt with feasibility extracting rare earth (REEs) from an industrial waste product exploitation phosphate ores “Djebel Onk” Tebessa eastern region Algeria. The solid residue was first leached at room temperature three different inorganic acids (HNO3, H2SO4 H3PO4) various concentrations leaching times. It possible to recover almost 100% La, Ce, Eu, Gd Y HNO3 3 N 24 h. However, only about 10% Yb were leached. leachates further treated two organophosphorous extractants, trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO) di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) chloroform. A virtually total extraction Gd, achieved TOPO 0.3 M. efficiency light (LREEs), La 38 55%, respectively. Very good selectivities between heavy (HREEs), LREEs as well medium (MREEs) obtained but unable selectively separate HREEs MREEs. Although D2EHPA led lower REEs than TOPO, it showed interesting performance for selective separation into fractions corresponding (La Ce), MREEs (Eu Gd) (Y Yb).
