摘要: Abstract Surface water Treatment for potable supplies typically involves coagulation, flocculation, Sedimentation, and filtration processes removing colloidal as well suspended solids from raw water. All treatment plants (WTPs) produce waste/residue known sludge (WTS) during the purification of The produced a WTP at Ghaziabad, India is investigated physical chemical characteristics. It consist about 60% fine sand in grain size range 150-75μ. Silica, alumina, ferric oxide lime constitute major percentage components present sludge. Some heavy metals are also found Discharging WTS into river, streams, ponds, lakes, drains etc. or landfilling dewatered not environment friendly disposal option. Based on characteristics, sustainable profitable through recycling reuse have been reviewed. Utilization brick making, ceramics manufacture cement cementitious materials substitute to building could provide safe route. Reuse wastewater treatment, removal aqueous solutions nutrient reduction laden soils runoffs some possible alternatives. required explore suitable option developing management strategies under stringent environmental norms.
