Exploiting spatial reuse gain through joint mode selection and resource allocation for underlay device-to-device communications

摘要: Device-to-device (D2D) communication has recently emerged as a promising technique for improving the performance of next-generation cellular systems. In particular, traffic offloading through exploiting spatial reuse gain underlay D2D gained attention in literature. While related work considered scenario where at most one pair can share radio resource users, we consider this paper more general involving multiple pairs sharing. To investigate resultant gain, first formulate joint optimization problem mode selection and allocation, optimal to operate, resources use, power transmit are be optimally decided group users with intra-cell traffic. The formulated belongs MINLP, hence propose an algorithm reduced complexity solving problem. Evaluation results show that, allocation among pairs, potential communications further exploited achieving significant gain.
