摘要: This paper reports a research project about collective action among older people in the UK. The aimed to investigate social issues are concerned about, identify types of that they likely take, and examine perceived barriers engaging action. work was framed within two psychological theories, Identity Process Theory [1] Social Representations [2]. An innovative approach adopted by incorporating construct subjective barriers. article presents some findings derived from studies (focus groups questionnaire). It is shown perceive need for change wide variety issues. A re-definition concept provided factors can either facilitate or hinder willingness participate highlighted. contributed towards development theory action; extended understanding processes operating people’s identity structure belief systems, has implications future policy.
