The relationship between available support, unmet needs and caregiver burden in patients with advanced cancer and their carers.

摘要: Caregiver burden is an increasing problem with patients surviving longer and more care tasks falling to informal caregivers. While research has identified patient caregiver variables associated burden, less focused on aspects of the environment. The present study investigated available support unmet needs 57 advanced cancer, 45 their carers 40 health professionals. Carers consistently higher levels for than professionals, identifying patients. also who in turn Surprisingly, did not increase over 6 months there was a tendency decrease time. Low support, high larger discrepancy between carer patients' reports need predicted negative burden. These results suggest that professionals underestimate both comparison carers. Carers' are important consider as they were including poorer health. Health should encourage opportunities discuss views ongoing cancer.
