摘要: Samma escarpment road is located in Asir Region, Saudi Arabia. It NW of Abha city. This represents a major corridor the area which connects different cities and touristic resorts region. descended from Sudah plateau at about 2700 m above sea level (asl) toward Wadi al Aws 1500 asl. The total length section 8 km passing through highly mountainous characterized by complex geological structural elements. has been exposed to frequent slope failures time due various factors such as intense rain storms, elements (weak rocks, shear zones, faults), characteristics (different horizontal/vertical curvatures narrow section), human activities (uncontrolled rock cuts). Many sliding events have documented along this road, particularly during following rainstorms. purpose paper evaluate geology structures applying mass rating (RMR) stability (structurally controlled failures) road. analysis was performed using two Dips RockPack III programs with help RocLab software. Summa cuts were classified into 51 stations investigated detail. Results indicated that most are poor quality, 31, 32, 41 stable, 4, 6, 7 marginally 16, 13, 3 potentially unstable planar, wedge, toppling failures, respectively. Finally, recommendations remediation methods suggested mitigation measures.
