摘要: Pathologic specimens of 18 goats with classical lesions caprine arthritis-encephalitis (CAE) virus infection were examined morphologically and by in situ hybridization using molecularly cloned CAEV deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) to determine which tissues cells naturally infected supported replication. Large numbers viral transcripts detected inflamed brain, spinal cord, lung, joints, mammary gland. These compatible macrophages. Fewer seen noninflamed tissues. Viral RNA was identified macrophagelike liver, spleen, lymph nodes, lining the vessels brain synovium, epithelial intestinal crypts, renal tubules, thyroid follicles. data suggest that cell tropism lentiviruses may extend beyond narrow boundaries lymphocytes
