摘要: Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of a cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factor reduction program for financially disadvantaged women. The included cholesterol and blood pressure assessments tailored physical activity nutrition interventions. Methods: Women who attended selected National Breast Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program sites in North Carolina Massachusetts received either enhanced interventions (EI) or minimum (MI). EI was assessed by pooling data from projects after 1 year, mixed models analysis covariance used compare changes CVD factors across groups. Results: pressure, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein profiles both groups improved, body weight maintained, smoking declined. 10-year estimated coronary heart death rate (per 1000 women) at baseline 64.8 group 61.9 MI group. declined 3.5 deaths per 0.7 MI. Although decline statistically significant group, difference between not significant. Conclusion: Further lifestyle intervention research targeting women is needed.
