摘要: Flaxseeds contain the phytoestrogens lignans that must be activated to enterolignans by intestinal bacteria. We investigated impact of flaxseeds on fecal bacterial communities and their associations with blood metabolites.Nine healthy male adult subjects ingested 0.3 g/kg/day during 1 week. Gut bacteria as well metabolites were analyzed. Ingestion triggered a significant increase in concentration enterolignans, accompanied excretion propionate glycerol. Overall diversity composition dominant remained individual specific throughout study. Enterolactone production was linked abundance two molecular species identified Ruminococcus bromii lactaris. Most order Bacteroidales positively associated concentrations either acetic, isovaleric, or isobutyric acid, latter being negatively correlated levels triglycerides. The relative sequence one Gemmiger (Ruminococcaceae) Coprococcus comes (Lachnospiraceae) LDL cholesterol triglycerides, respectively.Flaxseeds enterolignan but do not markedly alter metabolome communities. data underline possible role members family Ruminococcaceae regulation lipids.
