摘要: This study was performed in cooperation with a participatory research group called ‘Climate-Smart Agriculture – Sustainable Solutions for the Future’. It investigated how use of local ecosystem services organic weed management could decrease impact on climate change fossil fuel-intensive mechanical and thermal weeding methods. The designed to examine global challenges that have been internationally emphasised during recent years, such as change, peak oil degradation. A premise it is necessary not only increase efficiency or replace energy source but also perform large reductions total amount used. Participatory methodology systemic approach were used. Weed strategies reduce fuels help developed three farms consultation their owners. An on-farm experiment mechanically spread green mulch from fresh ley one farms. Other control methods discussed within included leftover silage, intercropping vegetables permanent red clover ley, consumer participation weeding, weed-competitive species mixes, annual mixes grazed by horses late autumn, increasing autumn-sown crops and/or crops, which are less labour-intensive than vegetables, inter-row cultivation, i.e. transplanted into dead cover crop. Some be adopted immediately, while others need tested different specific conditions. A sustainability evaluation tool based system conditions Natural Step spider diagrams. needs further development proved suitable purpose evaluating agricultural practices wide perspective identifying knowledge gaps concerning practices. Suggestions given adoption smart strategies.
