摘要: The impact of sleep deprivation on muscular strength and power remains poorly understood. We aimed to determine the acute effects 24 hr H-reflex V-wave excitability. Fourteen healthy young adults (eight men, six women) were included. Participants visited laboratory two different occasions, without with deprivation. In each session, participants tested for maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) plantar flexors dorsiflexors, soleus H- M-recruitment curves, evoked V wave, as well tibialis anterior/soleus electromyographic co-activation. Twenty-four hours did not affect either plantarflexion MVC or normalized amplitude (p > .05). Moreover, peak-to-peak change Conversely, we obtained a significant increase in antagonist/agonist level co-activation during post-sleep (6.2 ± 5.2%, p < .01). conclusion, found that responses are preserved after deprivation, revealing descending neural drive and/or modulation Ia afferent input largely unaffected under these circumstances. Yet, affects motor control by exacerbating magnitude forceful muscle contractions this is novel.
