摘要: This investigation used a derivation of acoustic reflection (AR) technology to make cross-sectional measurements changes due aging in the oral and pharyngeal lumina male female speakers. The purpose study was establish preliminary normative data for such obtain formant frequencies selected spoken vowels their long-term average spectra (LTAS) analysis. Thirty-eight young men women 38 elderly were involved study. participants measured with AR technology, analyzed using Kay Elemetrics Computerized Speech Lab. findings have delineated specific similar patterns human vocal tract configurations speakers both genders. Namely, cavity length volume increased significantly compared cohorts. total also showed significant increment, whereas did not differ from Elderly genders speech production, that is, consistent lowering (especially F1) across vowel productions. Although new research models are still needed succinctly account elderly, especially dimensional changes, this has innovatively applied noninvasive cost-effective monitor age-related direct consequences production.
