摘要: Bacteriophage-mediated transfer of DNA from an infected cell to a recipient bacterium is called transduction and one the three major mechanisms horizontal gene (HGT), alongside transformation conjugation, that promote genetic diversity in bacteria. Transduction arises errors packaging or prophage excision can occur natural environment where phage are abundant genetically morphologically diverse. considered important driver bacterial adaptive evolution. In contrast fully functional phage, agents (GTAs) might be remnants now host-adapted ‘constitutive transducers’ enabling exchange between some this article, transduction, its power as tool, occurrence summarized.
