摘要: This study investigates the potential interactions among some of key variables in Valins's (1966) false autonomic feedback paradigm. Subjects were shown mildly pleasant or unpleasant slides animals while they either paid attention to ignored a continuous-tone soundtrack that increased pitch conjunction with half pictures. was described as skin conductance level neutral auditory stimulus. Slides associated generally rated more affectively potent (in positive negative direction, depending on their initial affective valence). For slides, this effect contingent soundtrack, such subjectsignoring sounds showed stronger differential rating regardless meaning ascribed sound. both and slide conditions, only subject groups showing significant effects those ignoring neutrally It is argued pattern results poses severe problems for conventional attributional analysis “Valins effect.”
