摘要: IN a recent paper, Allsopp1 has suggested that the old ‘poison' hypothesis for action of ionizing radiation on living cells might be revived in terms ‘hydroxyl radical' as specific poison. Results experiments bacteriophage S13, undertaken at instigation and with support late Dr. D. E. Lea, suggest certain vitro experiments, least, indirect effects radiation, poison quite direct will explain results satisfactorily, being hydrogen peroxide.
