Biosynthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles Using Plant Extracts of Aloe vera and Hibiscus sabdariffa : Phytochemical, Antibacterial, Antioxidant and Anti-proliferative Studies

摘要: The zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by using aqueous extracts of Aloe vera gel/leaf and Hibiscus sabdariffa leaf, characterized FT IR, UV-Vis, XRD, SEM, EDX techniques. For comparison purposes, ZnO was also chemical method. Phytochemical screening the A. gel leaf H. showed presence alkaloids, carbohydrates, flavonoids, gums mucilages, saponins, phenolic compounds, tannins, terpenoids. IR spectra functional groups protein as stabilizing agent surrounding nanoparticles. UV-Vis exhibit characteristic absorption band in range 344–360 nm, which can be assigned to intrinsic bandgap due electron transitions from valence conduction band. Powder XRD patterns confirmed hexagonal wurtzite structure. Further, SEM analysis indicates rod shape structure composition both biological methods.
