摘要: OBJECTIVES To determine the association of intratumoral thymidylate synthase (TS) gene expression with resistance to fluoropyrimidines and study TS outcome in patients liver metastases from colorectal cancer. METHODS Intratumoral was measured by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction 33 carcinoma. Fifteen underwent resection, 18 were treated chemotherapy only. Patients high levels compared those low expression. RESULTS All a level nonresponders fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy. Median survival unresectable disease shorter who had (7 months vs 15 months, P = 0.02). After hepatic median disease-free interval (5 months; 0.004). Similarly, after resection (17 43 0.0002). DISCUSSION Increased is associated poor carcinoma, whether resected or This related part reduced responsiveness chemotherapeutic agents, but it also reflects inherently more aggressive behavior metastases.
