摘要: Better understanding of proximal tibia morphology can lead to improvements in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) through development tibial tray families that adequately reflect the diversity global anatomy using an appropriate number components. We quantified variations at TKA level and characterized differences attributable gender ethnicity. Virtual was performed on digital models 347 tibiae, spanning both genders multiple ethnicities. The geometry resection profile a comprehensive set morphological measurements (reflecting size shape) principal component analysis (PCA). dominant statistical modes variation were associated primarily with (plateau dimensions, radii, area), lesser contributions asymmetry aspect ratios. Medial lateral AP dimensions strongly correlated plateau ML width, minimal correlations due or In conclusion, clinically relevant resections across ethnicities be attributed largely overall size, not gender- ethnic-specific shape variations. © 2013 Orthopaedic Research Society Published by Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
