摘要: Abstract Cabello and Godfrey (2019) recently published the review “Salmon aquaculture, Piscirickettsia salmonis virulence, One Health: Dealing with harmful synergies between heavy antimicrobial use piscine human health,” in Aquaculture. Several gaps hinder readers from understanding complexity of P. bacterium-host interaction. This is addition to omitting essential information that, my opinion, should be reported because erroneous policy, economic, social decisions could made notably impact Chilean aquaculture industry. For example, not an opportunistic pathogen poor virulence/pathogenicity, literature instead widely supports several pathogenic mechanisms (e.g., iron uptake) virulence capacity vitro vivo. Furthermore, emerging – was described 31 years ago, currently primary cause for salmonid mortalities Chile, even officially monitored as a national health threat. Yet other examples reveal gross bias, such indicating that quinolones are current treatment salmonis. In reality, have drastically decreased since 2015 according official government reports ( Godfrey's review.
