Comparison of slow potentials evoked in the frog's nasal mucosa and olfactory bulb by natural stimulation.

摘要: A comparative study has been made of the slow potential changes induced in frog's olfactory bulb and nasal mucosa. It was found that response closely reproduced receptor organ. Thus, stimulus strength brought about identical height two potentials. The sensitive to asphyxia while remained unaltered for hours after arrest circulation. Antidromic stimulation secondary pathways blocked waves but left unaffected. Strong sometimes gave rise oscillations superimposed upon potential. frequency bulbar not influenced by these oscillations. When nerve stimulated antidromically a diphasic spike could be recorded from This exhibited same distribution pattern as response. Repetitive maximal antidromic did affect evoked mucosa natural stimulation.
