摘要: Background and aim: This study examined the association between socioeconomic deprivation, travel distance, urban-rural status, location type of screening unit, breast uptake. Screening was provided at 13 locations—1 fixed 12 mobile (3 non-health locations). Methods: The data from 1998 to 2001 for 34 868 women aged 50–64 years, calculated road used 1991 enumeration district level Townsend deprivation scores, a ward classification. Results: Odds attendance decreased with increasing an adjusted odds ratio 0.64 (95%CI 0.59 0.70) in most deprived relative least category. 87% lived within 8 km their location. 10 increase distance 0.87 0.79 0.95). ratios were 1.18 1.08 1.28) health location, 1.00 0.94 1.07) site unit 0.91 1.09) mainly rural urban areas. Conclusions: Socioeconomic inequality uptake seems persist established service. There small decrease no difference units, areas but seemed be higher sites. Further work is needed identify effective methods decreasing inequalities confirm if locations are associated
