Towards a high quality path-oriented network measurement and storage system

摘要: Researchers need current and historical measurements of Internet paths. We built deployed a complete system designed to fill these needs: safe, shareable, multi-user active network measurement probes paths reliably records in storage facility with multiple levels caching, providing users fast, flexible querying. Our system, on PlanetLab for over 20 months, has accumulated 940 million made them publicly available separate, federated data repository. experience shows that building running such valuable research tool poses significant engineering practical challenges.
