摘要: Background Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) is the preferred treatment modality for high-risk nonmelanoma skin cancer because of high cure rates and tissue-sparing effect. Its outcome highly dependent on expertise accuracy Mohs surgeon in interpretation frozen sections. Objective This retrospective study evaluated level concordance between surgeons dermatopathologists reading histology slides from MMS procedures. Methods Materials A read 170 randomly selected a quality assurance audit during excision, then dermatopathologist blindly them at separate time. Absence or presence tumour final diagnosis were recorded standardized form. Results An overall 99.4% was demonstrated. True discordance only one cases. Intraepidermal atypia most challenging scenario surgeons. Conclusions The rate agreement this confirms that adequately trained have sufficient training accurate precise sections interpretation.
