Streptococcus massiliensis sp. nov., isolated from a patient blood culture.

摘要: An unidentified strain of the viridans group streptococci was isolated from a human blood sample. It distinguished all other recognized species Streptococcus sanguinis by several biochemical characteristics. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence comparisons clustered this with ferus (mutans group) but phylogenetic rpoB and sodA included it in S. group. The isolate showed 95.4 95.2 % similarity to sanguinis, respectively, confirming as belonging novel taxon, for which name massiliensis sp. nov. is proposed. type 4401825T (=CIP 108498T=CCUG 49690T).
