摘要: The p16/MTS1 gene is altered by deletion, mutation, or hypermethylation in a wide variety of human cancers. As result deficient p16 protein, these cancers lack critical mechanism for halting G1/S cell cycle progression. In the current study, 59 cases nasopharyngeal carcinoma were evaluated expression tumor suppressor protein immunohistochemical analysis paraffin-embedded tissue. There was no detectable 38/59 (64%), which implies very high rate inactivation this type cancer. On other hand, retinoblastoma product, also regulates G1 to S phase transition cycle, consistently expressed carcinomas analysis. These results implicate but not Rb alteration stepwise progression carcinogenesis.
