摘要: Forest edges with diverse vegetation are an important feature of habitat preference for the hazel dormouse Muscardinus avellanarius. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine factors predicting summer nest construction in deciduous woodland Slovakia. At same time, types, dimensions nests and nest-site shrubs young trees were analysed. A total 178 found over years 2010–2013 on branches several plant species, but mainly Prunus spinosa, Rubus fruticosus Carpinus betulus. The principle component analysis (PCA) revealed that significant shrubby vegetation. occurrence four types (mixed, layered, foliar grassy) relatively large confirmed. Botanical leaf material confirmed ten different species incorporated into nests. Moreover, a positive correlation shown between distance from ground top height. This suggests micro-habitat may play role suitable nesting dormouse, as stated by authors countries regions its distributional range. data presence or absence monitored aid detection species.
