摘要: Simple laboratory methods have been developed for studying, under defined conditions, the colonization of cellulose substrata by soil micro-organisms. The substratum is placed on surface samples in Petri dishes and followed direct microscopic examination situ also removing small pieces colonized material more critical study. Such factors as moisture, nutrient status pH may be varied their influence determined. In our studies used was lens tissue moisture always maintained at ‘field capacity’. were pH, nitrate phosphate. detailed effects varying these depended type but a striking feature range cellulolytic species found any treatment. Generally, only one or two actively involved. treatments all produced marked consistent changes qualitative composition colonizing flora. These results emphasize precise control environment selecting individual members from group organisms competent to degrade particular substrate. They implications study micro-environments soil. It generally considered that constitutes mosaic environments usually too size analysis. By extension adopted here it appears would possible create sufficiently large scale great many situations which occur naturally micro-scale.
