摘要: The epithelial cell layer of the cornea plays an important role not only as a refracting surface and barrier to pathogens, but also in maintenance tear film spreading stability. Any device used replace or augment must support healthy anterior order maintain these precorneal functions. objective is translate fundamental knowledge from cell-biology laboratory engineering synthetic corneas that stimulate integrative biological responses when transplanted needy eye. Cells rely on extrinsic meso-, micro-, nano-scale chemistry topography their surroundings provide necessary physiological cues for development survival. Signals, form peptide sequences, extracellular matrix milieu trigger integrins receptors membrane initiate diverse natural immobilization signaling ligands within environment provides basis engineer cell-surface interfaces enhance cellular migration proliferation. These surfaces will future clinical interventions employ substrates developed biomimetic which generate normal corneal wound healing replacement/augmentation.
