Amino acid composition of preterm and term breast milk during early lactation

摘要: Abstract The amino acid composition of the protein nitrogen (PN) and non-protein (NPN) fractions human milk obtained from mothers delivering maturely at term was studied weekly until 44 weeks postconceptual age. Preterm contained significantly more total (TN) PN than milk; NPN component similar between two groups. amount decreased in both preterm during first lactation (from ≈ 300 mg/100 ml day 7 to 220 8 weeks), while level remained constant (≈ 33 ml). concentrations almost all acids fraction also early lactation, those portion relatively constant. Glutamate (1630 μM) taurine (398 were most plentiful found fraction. No differences detectable group. Amino measured this study accounted for 67% TN present. Whether remaining 33% can be attributed nitrogen-containing substances other and/or methodologic error is not known.
