摘要: The study's emphasis was on Dayak Merap and Punan people's perception of the importance forest. A participatory approach using exercises completed with seven forest dwelling communities in tropical landscape Malinau, East Kalimantan. findings suggest that un-logged most important land category for people. It provides their livelihoods well-being both directly indirectly. 'Forest' has heritage values contains an abundance valued significant plants animal. For future, 'forest' is predicted to remain local people mainly timber. Forests are exceptional comparison other types providing a wide range highly goods services, cases greater degree than types. In addition, value decreases less apparent distances. However, logged related as much important, allowing us consider improvements management might better protect values.
