We formulated and tested linear regression models pooled cross‐section time series data. The most complete model considered explanatory variables such as: (1)the real mean returns; (2) productive structure regions; (3) proportion labour income; (4) single filings; (5) a set dummy capture shifts relationships over time. specification provided good overall fit, coefficients being, general, statistically significant having appropriate sign. estimated enabled us make important prediction that as material progress takes place, inequality will tend stabilize, but at much higher level than presently experienced by developed countries western hemisphere.
