摘要: Abstract The low energy “tail” of the soft X -ray emission bands metals is interpreted as due mainly to double and multiple transitions, contribution which seems more important than effects studied by Landsberg (broadening levels electron collisions) Raimes (modification level density required Bohm-Pines theory). theoretical treatment applied L 3 band sodium use made a screened Coulomb potential was done theory. screening length determined Thomas-Fermi method gives quite good agreement with observation. Its value similar that fixed empirically Landsberg. on contrary much too high because would then spread over several eV.
