摘要: The microwave antenna temperature of the earth has been computed for case a communication satellite viewing from geostationary orbit. An earth-coverage beam is assumed and detailed computations are performed to account varying land-ocean fractions within field view. Emission characteristics earth's atmosphere surface used with an accurate radiative transfer program compute observed brightness temperatures. Values 250 290 K commonly in noise calculations found be over-conservative estimates, more realistic values lying 60-240 range depending on frequency subsatellite longitude. These also depend assumptions concerning coverage. Variations atmospheric conditions, variations shape (as distinct coverage), affect results by less than about 10 K.
